As for now, the total confirmed number of COVID-19 is 1,309,439 globally according to John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center. At the same time, the number of total confirmed cases is 347,003 in America. Without doubts, it already influenced a lot of countries around the world.
When I just returned from home and got here for the Winter Quarter, my hometown-China had begun to breakout COVID-19. At that time, I was so worried about my family and friends in China. And then, the whole country was under a situation of emergency. At the start, the government already asked people to wear masks and stay at the home. Many doctors and nurses from other provinces came to Wuhan, the most serious province in China. Many doctors and nurses worked all day without any resting because they wanted more patients to live. Within three months, COVID-19 already got much relief. My parents already began to work and my friends plan to back to school. I feel so proud of my country.
However, many western countries are under emergency. I am so shocked that many leaders in U.S. suggest not wearing masks if you are healthy because I know how the virus scary in China. During Trump's speech, he also called the COVID-19 virus as "Chinese Virus." Many Chinese are so angry. Just like Valverde in "Fight the Tower: A Call to Action for Women Of Color in Academia," she had such terrible experiences because of the torture of her colleagues and life. She just keeps going, and we should also so like her because the truth will come out eventually.
All countries in the world tie together. Other counties will not be relaxed if there are other counties are still undergoing painful situations. I wish other countries will be better soon.
Question: How should we cope with the shortage of disinfecting stuff?
