WEEK 3               

According to “Introduction. “The Time to Fight is Now”: Asian American Women, Academia’s Socially Engineered “Privileged Oppressed,” Go Rogue”, Kieu Linh Caroline Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis mentioned about the racial and sexual discrimination the Asian American women face to in academia. Decimation is not only existing in society but also in facing students. 

As an international student, I did experience discrimination in school. Maybe there is the race to me, but I did not feel that. However, now I realized that there are more faulty and corrupt things than what I know in academia.

Form the aspect of gender, women are seeming like a weak side, which easily gets hurt. Most Asian American women face discrimination decides to be silent and escape the problem. However, it could not solve the problem. Asian American women should protect themselves, not make them look down.

Also, I think academia is a very important step for everyone. People should release their discrimination, learn how to protect and speak for themselves

Question: Why people could not face discrimination?
