Lele Bian A04 Week2

Today,  Bronx zoo in New York has reported that a 4-year-old female Malayan tiger was developing a dry cough lately, therefore, samples are being taken and tested positive for coronavirus; In addition, according to the United States Department of Agriculture(USDA), there are also five other tigers and lions showing symptoms of respiratory illness. This is really heartbreaking to see the infection happening among animals and also the "power" of the coronavirus. As I read through the article, I found that the tiger is being infected by an employee at the zoo. This makes me start to worry about how doctors are keeping themselves safe while contacting hundreds of patients each day.

Coronavirus: Cytokine storm syndrome treatments for Covid-19 ...
After I watched the video of the Asian American doctor in NYC on the Facebook page, I realize how much worse their life has been impacted because of the COVID-19 than ours. For us, we don’t have to wear masks every day, the only thing we need to do to avoid COVID is to stay at home, and we can still study via zoom and online materials. However, for doctors, they have to go to work every day; to minimize the risk of infection, they have to will several layers of masks. When I was wearing one piece of mask, I already felt hard to breathe, I can’t imagine how hard that will be for a doctor to wear it the whole day.

Because of this Virus, I started to feel that there is actually no “real home” for Asian Americans. China lately has also said that they no longer accept foreigners to get in even if you have a valid visa, and even if all your family members are there. Also here in the United States, many Asian Americans are not treated as “real families”. I started to consider why Asian Americans are treated this way; and are Asian Americans treated differently in all different industries?
