Jiazhi Xu, A04, Week4

This week I read the section 'Unpacking the Master’s Plan' by Eliza Noh, the section further explain the obstacles that Scholars facing in the Asian American study in the academies. The section further my understanding of the education discrimination that Asian American suffered in the academia. In the section, Eliza clearly illustrates how education institutions limit the ethnic studies and explains the 'education politics' inside the education system. Approving to attend the elite program, the scholars studying Asian American culture didn't enjoy the rewards and supports that they were guaranteed. Furthermore, the Asian American study was allowed to exist only because the schools want to provoke the significance of diversity it possessed. I feel like I am brought into the 'dark side' of the education system that is filled with racial discrimination and inequality. Even though I understand that in certain areas and places, the original residents generally have senses of superior than others, but I can't believe that the geographical superiority can also saturate into academia. So my question is: Can internet, which promote interpersonal connection and decrease national boundary, helps people to suppress the racial discrimination?
