Chiyuan Zhang A01 WEEK3

This week's reading reveals the current condition of Asian American in academia. In addition, after reading this chapter, I learn more about the radicalization of slavery's history. Today, education is one of the most concerned topics in the society; however, in academia, there are still many limitations for Asian Americans. Like this week reading mentions: "The language and logic structure upon which the hierarchies used to oppress contemporary society are based are constructed within elite institutions. The students learning to become social leaders in lawmaking and capitalism utilize these constructed logic structures if hierarchy because they have been trained by academia to believe in their scientific veracity and rationality." In academia, the rules are made by others, and the rules have personal perspectives. The reading pays attention to the role of female Asian Americans in the academia. In academia, they have outstanding contributions and excellent talent. It is possible that Female Asian Americans will have the high status in academia. On the contrary, their position
and behaviors are limited in academia. Like reading mentions: "Asian American women are particularly significant in understanding how successful power holders have been in suppressing, isolating and dividing groups." In academia, Asian American women endure more pressure. I believe that any races have their right to be treated fairly so Asian American women get together to challenge the social engineering system and change their current situation.

Question: Beside in academia, do Asian American women have another limitation in other domains? For example, in entertainment circle, what kind of limitations and unfair treatments the Asian American women endure?
