The article “The Time to Fight Is Now”: Asian-American Women, Academia’s Socially Engineered “Privileged Oppressed,” by Kieu Linh Caroline Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis, states that Asian-American women faculty decided and began to fight unfairness in the academy with their power and rights.

I think Asian-American women should fight unfairness and protect their rights in the academy because everyone is equal in education. In what stated in the article, not only colored women faculty but also colored students on campus had been discriminated. When some colored students cannot endure injustice in education, they will drop out. For universities, this will lead to a decreased diversity on campus; for colored students, they lose the opportunity to receive education. However, universities changed nothing. Like the professor said in the class, “silent will not solve any problems.” I agree with her, and other people will not change their ideas with your silence. Therefore, women of color should stand out to protect themselves.

Except for the discrimination of Asian-American women, the article only mentioned that some people have a stereotype of Asian-American women. I think now most people have stereotype for Asian-American people, not only for Asian American women. For example, Asian-American people should be good at math. Though I am not an Asian-American, I am an Asian. However, I am not good at math, and I also need to work hard to get a good grade. If a student receives a high grade on math, either he works hard on it, or he has a high intelligence on math. There is no relationship among races. However, there are also numerous videos on the internet showing most people’s stereotype of Asian-Americans.
There is a video that I find.

Question: Why the most people have the stereotype for the Asian-Americans?
