The Beloved Community of Martin Luther King

I found it interesting that Martin Luther King Jr. was well aware of not only what was going on in the United States during his time, but also was aware of what was going on throughout the entire world. His work with African American rights was so great and influential that many people forget what he did for the average man and that he also had his own opinions on world issues and conflicts, especially with communism. His goal was to not only help African Americans lift themselves up from the status of being second-class citizens, but also help the average man of all races overcome their own hardships by restructuring the social system. Many people forget that Martin Luther King Jr.’s work was not meant to help just African Americans; it was meant to help individuals of all races. Grace Lee Boggs proposes an idea in which combines the militant methods founded by Malcolm X and the pacifist ways of Martin Luther King Jr. How would these two different ideologies of protest combine and meld with one another as Grace Lee Boggs suggests?
