Reading: "A Quota on Excellence? The Asian American Admissions Debate" by Don T. Nakanishi

I, too, was an high school student facing college admission about a year ago. My tutor had mentioned the myth about Asian American admissions. He had told me that Asian Americans have to do the extra compare to students of other race to get a spot in college admission. He said, "a smart, asian academic achiever is very common. And university admissions are bored of it." At first, I only see this as an college admission tactic thing. But after reading this article by Nakanishi, I realized this means much more, as the issue stands for racial discrimination and much more.

Asian American issues advocates have been fighting for this unfair condition to end but this war is long term. For short term solution to this issue, I think there should be regulation that forbid college admission department asking for students' race or fishing for indication of students' race.

Question: Do other students of the class feel they had faced discrimination when applying for college regarding of their races?
