Courses of Ethnic Studies Taught Today in Schools

In the article The ‘Four Prisons’ and the movements of Liberations’ the writer Omatsu mentions that in the 1970s, Asian American s fought for a curriculum in ethnic studies. I find it very interesting that it took that long for the studies to be interrogated in college courses. Although the courses were taught it was very interested that the writer mentions that although the course was very “well received by the audience” that the information given was incorrect. Reading this made me think of what I learned from another course about what Ron Takaki referred as the Master Narrative, which mainly reflects the history of the Caucasians and their accomplishments.

Ethnic studies was a huge battle to get in college courses. Today in grade school are theses courses being shield away from this age group and watered down about the real history of minorities?
