After reading the "Fight the Tower: Women of Color in Academia Manifesto ix Prologue: Taking Action: Asian American Faculty against Injustices in the Academy”, I found it's very funny to have the stereotype that Asian Americans are always quiet, hard-working, and docile people. (Hune, 2) Every person has different sides and personalities, which makes it impossible to use several words to describe them. Not to mention stereotypes about a group of people. Connect to the COVID-19 event, Asian Americans are depicted as the origin of the virus, and this hurts them badly. Now this group of people has a new "tag", which can enhance the unequal treatment in the U.S. As Hune mentions in the article, Asian Americans can face unequal treatment in education. With the new stereotype, there is not only a new excuse to refuse them to attend higher education, but also become a weapon to attack them in school. With the new stereotype, there is not only a new excuse to refuse them to attend education, but also become a weapon to attack them in school. For example, there is news that Americans rushed into Asian Americans’ house and used knives to attack the whole Asian Americans’ family because they think that’s the only way to end the COVID-19 virus. I think people should be more rational to think about the origin of the virus. It’s a global disaster and it’s meaningless and useless to impose the “tag” of the origin of the virus on any country or person. However, I'm confused about why Trump as a president can make a public speech to show stereotype and bias in a country on COVID-19?
