After reading the part of Kieu Linh Caroline Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis. “The Time to Fight Is Now”: Asian American Women, Academia’s Socially Engineered “Privileged Oppressed.” The article tells me how Asian-American women are treated very unfairly in academia. From "university administrators still treat Asian American women in academia as though they will simply show up and shut up." You can see how offensive it is. Since everyone has the right to speak, you can't shut someone up because you don't want to listen. It also shows how important it is to speak up and complain about it. Silence will never solve the problem. It will only make others bully you even more.
I In fact, Asian American Women scholars are discriminated against more than anyone else because they are inadvertently labeled. For example, Since of their social status as "mothers", female scholars are always suspected of not having enough time to devote to their works. They are forced to choose between family or work. Coupled with their yellow skin, Asian-American scholars were isolated from white scholars. The racial and social order of Asian-American women scholars was exacerbated by the inherent superiority of whites. There are so many labels attached to their heads. This hinders their pursuit of academic achievement and honor. And on the question of the race between blacks and whites, the yellow race is always in a dilemma.
My question is, after the boycott and protests from Asian American Women scholars, Is there has much change now?
