Why People Oppress?

It is always difficult for women to gain rights whether it is in history or in the present life. In the past, the only job for women is to be a good wife and a good mother. They spent their whole day shopping, cleaning, cooking, washing, and taking care of her family members. However, due to the high development of technology, those works become less time-consuming. The women started having time to do other things like finding a job. However, some types of jobs had been occupied by men for a very long time and they did not believe women can do the job as great as they did. And they also did not want to fight for a job because of the existence of women. So, those men try their best to restrict women’s development in many careers such as education. Like what the author of this book cited from Mr. Miyagi of Star Wars, “fear is the path to the dark side and wrestling with power, one cannot be ruled by fear, or power will oppress us” (Valverde and Dariotis 2020).
Men want to oppress women because they afraid to lose their position and job if the women were better. White people want to oppress the colored people also because they did not have strong confidence that they can compete with colored people and win. Thus, they all want to oppress people they are afraid of epically the women of color who get the most attention and stress.
Therefore, I want to ask that does those people who are making oppress to others really know why they are doing like that.
