Jenny Ma ASA002 A01 Week 1

Yesterday is called the "Qingming Festival", or tomb-sweeping day in Chinese culture on April 4, when people traditionally visit their ancestors' graves. And for this year, the day became a little more different---Chinese leaders gathered to lead a moment of silence in honor of the victims of the 2019 coronavirus disease.
Police officers in Wuhan stand in silence as traffic stops during a three-minute silence to coronavirus victims on April 4, 2020.

At 10 a.m. local time, people around the country paused their activities and came to a complete standstill for three minutes. Vehicles on the street also stopped and hooked for three minutes spontaneously. I was in my dream at that time due to my different schedule because of the online course, but I was awaked with not being mad but touching. Thanks to everyone who contributes to the war to fight against the virus, thanks to those people who keep social distance, life has been slowly getting back to normal in China as provinces start lifting their lockdowns.

Different from most students at UCD, I actually experienced the whole process of COVID-19 pandemic in China and have witnessed everything going through here because I gaped the winter quarter. Therefore, I was especially touched by this picture that delivery workers put down their parcel to bow their heads outside a shopping mall---most of them risk a lot to work during the lockdown to ensure food and medical supplies of us. We do rely on them a lot. (Ma A., 2020)
