According to the week three reading material, '"Introduction. "The Time to Fight Is Now: Asian American Women, Academia's Socially Engineered "Privileged Oppressed," Go Rogue." by Kieu Linh Caroline Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis. According to the article, the author stated that" Student occupations and hunger strikes; faculty protests; firings of tenured faculty; votes of no confidence in top administrators; external audits; forced resignations of senior leadership; anti-education stances by political leaders; threats to academic freedom; student activism around tuition hikes, student debt, hunger, and homelessness; and similar high-stakes actions overtly signal a dramatic reaction to the current state of higher education" I agree with his views. People are more and more, not trusting higher education organizations. I read a news story a couple of years ago, about the College Admissions Bribery Scandal. The story is about Several top universities in the United States have been involved in a criminal conspiracy scandal that has affected undergraduate enrollment decisions. Some rich people pay money to help their kid be able to enroll in the top universities, which is not fair to some students who put a lot of effort into study.
Question for this week's reading: what should we do if we knew someone involved in academic cheating? What should we do to keep a fair educational environment?
