This week, I read “The Time to Fight Is Now”: Asian American Women, Academia’s Socially Engineered “Privileged Oppressed,” Go Rogue.” which is wrote by Kieu Linh Caroline Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis. This reading impressing me a lot. In this reading, the author is trying to tell that even the high education scholar is still being oppressed by their color and race, the Asian American females.
It is ridiculous that people claim there are all equal for all races and genders people in academic, but treat the people unequal in the actual situation. Many people even never realized this unequal bias, for this has been inveterately in their minds.
Scholar, science, and literacy, should be all freedom. People should pay more attention to studies and research. When judge one article, every reader should treat the reading by cover the name and background of the author, which should not be influenced by the nothing that related to the scholars. In the field of study, there is no race and gender in judgment; however, this diversity would be an advantage for creating. People should never treat it as bias or discrimination.
Many universities like UC Davis admit many different race and gender of students every year in a settled percentage, to create this diversity. It has the advantage of creating this environment for scholarly research. Consequently, please respect the race and gender, and do not wear a color glasses in treating according to them.
