It’s Difficult to Teach as Asian American
Being an Asian American professor is not easy, they will face lots of challenges that come from colleagues and school. They will try to find mistakes from Asian American professor, and what’s worse, they will report Asian American professor to the school. The article “She Shall Not Be Moved” by W. P. States “She would sabotage my work, then report me as incompetent and uncooperative to the chairs, the staff director, and the provost.” It means that Asian American professor always be watched by colleagues, and report them just because they don’t like Asian American professor. I heated from one of my white classmate, and he said that he only respect white professor because this is America. I feel so sad about what he said. America is a diversity country, and we should respect the people from different backgrounds. Personally, we should respect the professor no matter what background they come from, because professor is professor, there is no such thing that white professor is better than Asian American professor. My question is if school don’t like Asian American professor, then why hire them? If hire them, why don’t treat them well?
