Yi Qian ASA2 A04 Week 10

After reading the article for the final week, “Conclusion: Academics Awaken: Power, Resistance, and Being Woke”, I think it indeed brings us a good summary of this whole book and also our course. Just like what the author wrote in it, the goal is to make “academia become a place of truth seeking and equitable teaching and learning”. We need to return academia to a pure land, free from injustice and racial discrimination.
In the book, there are many chapters point out that most Asian American women are now facing the racial discrimination and gender discrimination problem in academia. They are oppressed by the people in power, and this is a fact that cannot be ignored. We cannot allow such discrimination to exist in academia, since it caused these people to suffer, both physically and psychologically. It’s time for all of us to be woke. This is not a fight that is only for Asian American; this is a fight for the whole community. Everyone needs to stand together to make movements to protect the justice for the country, and it’s not only in academia, but also in more places.
My question is what else can we do to achieve the goal to make academia become a place of truth seeking and equitable teaching and learning?
