Week 1

Coronavirus known as the virus that would cause different kinds of illness including cold, fever and hard to breathe. As for now, there have been over 360000 confirmed cases in the United States, with a death toll over 10000. It's hard to estimate what would happen next to America and the spread of coronavirus is very fast. As an international student who has studied abroad for many years, I know how the coronavirus breaks out in my hometown. At the beginning, no one cared about the coronavirus, people only thought it was another pneumonia case. At that time, a doctor named Wenliang Li pointed out it was a virus similar to SARS that China experienced in 2003. Nevertheless, no one believed him and thought he was spreading rumors. After that, the situation began to lose control, A lot of people got coronavirus. There was not enough space in the hospital and the resources were lacking. I was worried about my family and my friends in China. I told them to wear masks and medical gloves everyday. Fortunately, Chinese government started to control the situation and told people to stay at home. The local government published a home quarantine order and only allowed people going out if necessary. It's very efficient for stopping the spread of coronavirus and my hometown has become stable now. I am very happy to see the life there back on track
I hope that the United States government will follow the method that Chinese government used to control Coronavirus. Many famous schools including UC Davis have already moved their classroom to online in order to keep their students safe. There should not be assembly anymore and people should wear masks when they go outside. Wash hands frequently and open windows to allow fresh air inside. Coronavirus is a global challenge and we should conquer it together. Wishing all my classmates stay safe and happy.
