Takami Yamamoto ASA2 A02 Week 5

In this week's reading "Asian American Women Students’ Negotiating Power in Academia" by Deloso (2019), it introduced student activism from the perspective of women in academia. I was surprised to see how there are people that actually would go that far and fight for what they believe and deserve.
I believe that activists are needed in this world. There are so much injustice and discrimination in this world that needs activists to realize and push them to change. The world is never going to become a better place on its own. And if we do not make a move, it is not we are letting the world be how it is like currently but letting those who have power way above us to do what they want to do to us, to socially engineer this world. Unfortunately, I don't have that much courage to become an activist myself, so I admire those that can stand up for us. These activists are the true heroes in this world.
Question for Professor Valverde: what made up your mind to become an activist?
