week 3 blog by yulin Bai

Through this week's reading, I learned that to a large extent, Asian American women are discriminated against or considered to have no personality, quiet and invisible, or sexual object. @Asian American women face discrimination in their professional and personal lives. These are all related to the stereotype of Asian women, who are considered to be "geisha" with special characteristics. Not leaders. Asians are always considered incapable of being leaders. Many people are thought to work for the company as part of a team but not in management. However, due to the stereotype that Asian women are quiet and lack of leadership quality, they are considered to have no leadership ability. And they are not usually considered leaders. What's more, many times Asian American women face blatant discrimination in their personal relationships and professional lives from their bosses, professors, colleagues, subordinates, partners, family members and friends.

I hope that those who discriminate against Asian American women will be more aware that they are no different from ordinary people and do not give any stereotype to them. Each of them has a unique personality. We should pay attention to this issue and protect the rights of Asian women and prevent discrimination against this group.

question:How is the academic discrimination against Asian women different from that against Asian men?
