After reading "Nothing Is More Important than Thinking Dialectically" a sense of urgency and comes to mind as I realize i'm not aware of Chinese history outside of the little Chinese American history that is taught in high school. It seems the involvement of Chinese Americans in American history is more important as we see some tribulations, but learning why they immigrated and the things going on in China would help gauge the importance of moving to America along with understanding the ideologies immigrants have taken with them to America. To address this issue, people can take a history class on different nations, however for certain people who are academic oriented, (engineers, bio, etc) , it becomes hard to gain access because these issues are not within their scope, such as the reading suggests. Personally, I would love to learn about Chinese history to gain a better understanding of what my parents and grandparents went through, but I wouldn't know where to start without taking a Chinese history class.
