Fight the Tower:Women of Color in Academia Manifesto

The reading, “Fight the Tower: Women of Color in Academia Manifesto”, talks about the struggles of women of color against society and society’s discrimination against race and gender. Women are already treated as an inferior being compared to men in society but due to society’s discrimination of races, women of color struggle the most because they are at the bottom in social standing. This reading empowers women into fighting against the racist and patriarchal society and emphasizes on the extra effort women need to give in order to succeed or be equal to men. After reading this, I was astonished because I strongly agree with the reading and felt like women of color are mistreated for unjust reasons and have to put in more effort in order to survive in this society. It is unfair for society to judge a person based on their gender and race so my question is, when will society no longer judge a person based on their gender and race but on their abilities and actions?
