The Struggles of the Education System and Students

Mae Wong
Section 1
Week 4

What is the purpose of having an education system if we have to fight for our education? In the article, A Tale of Two Campuses: Berkeley and Davis respond to Occupy movements, it discusses mainly about money issues or struggles that students have to face due to the greed of the education system. In my opinion, I think it’s ridiculous to raise tuition for any schools. It defeats the purpose of freedom of education because students have to waste their studying or class time to fight against the hike in tuition. I read reports how they wanted to give raises to administrations by raising the tuition and I think it’s just ridiculous because I think it’s not a reasonable reason to constantly raise tuition. I think tuition should be set at a certain price that everyone can go to school without worry and to be educated because some can’t afford to go to school.
Why can't education be free?
