In the research paper, we can find out AAPIs students enrolled in the UC College systems in recent years have increased significantly. From 1988 to 2013, the percentage of AAPI among UC Berkeley Domestic Freshmen had increased from 26% to 48.2%. This phenomenon happens because diversity brought us many benefits in higher education. It develops students’ cognitive skills, help eliminate prejudice, and promote positive intergroup attitudes. The attribution of these positive progresses is domestic diversity. That’s why Asian American votes against proposition 209 since it restrict people to pursue equal opportunities in education, employment, and contracting. United States is a country which consists of different races and cultures. As the society advance to higher civilization, we should preserve such precious spirit by making effort together. However, from Asian American population distribution data, we could find out Asian American in specific state such as California is significantly larger than other states. This doesn’t contribute other native Americans have updated recognitions to Asian American which is not good at eliminating bias and stereotypes. How could we spread Asian images and cultures more broadly in whole U.S.?
