Dialectically Thinking

Dialectically Thinking

In the short article, “Nothing Is More Important than Thinking Dialectically,” Grace Boggs identifies how “thinking dialectically” is more important. At first, I was confused and did not understand what it means to think dialectically. However, as Boggs continues to develop her arguments, I started to understand why and agree. Boggs starts off by explaining how movements in the past were accomplished. Many people were able to succeed in their movements for rights and political power through their struggles, but still, these kinds of movements were unable to improve the relationship and understanding from other racial groups. So in order to improve this, if minority groups were to unite with one another, they will be able to fight against racism and imperialism. I agree with Boggs in the sense that we should view issues from multiple perspectives and come together as one for a countercultural movement. As Boggs stated, we all should build a relationship with each other while expanding more “socially responsible education.”

Even though most of us believe in thinking dialectally, will others be willing to think dialectically?
