ASA 2 - Sec 2
Week 1
The article that interested me most from the readings was the Asian Pacific Americans' Social Movements and Interest Groups. I thought it was interesting how parts of some of the cities I've been to in California were created because of segregated communities (I'm not sure why I didn't realize that earlier). It is crazy to think that the whole community of Little Tokyo was evacuated because of Executive Order 9066 leaving a ghost town. Then only 15 years ago in 2000, 500 people demanded a Little Tokyo Recreation center. It just clicked in my head, because I visited that area with friends. I'm a fan of before and after pictures so here's a screen shot from nps.gov.

Question: Why are minority communities usually next to one another? I think Chinatown in New York is right next to little Italy.
