Analysis of Fight the Tower Manifesto

Week 2

In the article “Fight the Tower Manifesto,” the organization Fight the Tower persuades women to speak out on injustice not only when they encounter themselves but also when they see others fearing unfairness due to discrimination. To be honest, I was shocked when I first saw this manifesto because I did not feel that women are still facing serious discrimination today. I could not deny the fact that women were prohibited from attending school in the past; however, women have opportunity to study just like every men do in nowadays. The reason why women are less educated than men is that the revolution is not yet converged. Women may still encounter inequality in workforce today, but the number of convicted women is relatively lower than the past. To me, this article overstates the truth because I cannot relate it to what I see now. However, I think this is a successful manifesto since the use of pathos in this piece of reading touches readers’ heart, and it may lead readers to take some direct actions. Therefore, just like what being suggested, women should be united to fight for righteousness. Question that I still had after reading this article is what exactly women can do to improve their current unequal academic status.
