SAPSA pre-screening - A03 - Tristan Kwik, Sadaf Sadiq, Emerald Vang, Kathlene Ngo

Below is the link to our SAPSA video. We have the preliminary animations completed and have added some text at the end to help explain what topics our video will cover. We plan on adding narration to the video to go along with the visual content.

Your visual component is very strong. The animations help to guide the viewer’s attention and the transitions were smooth. Having examples of posts and memes from the page was also a great addition. I’m not sure what you guys have in mind for the audio, but I think in between your narration, or if you’re not going to narrate over the scrolling bit, you could add in some light music to make things easier to follow. If possible, you could also throw a few related statistics in about the Asian American community or about AA community building to help boost your argument.

The topic is a good choice. It is relevant, making more people interested. It makes them think deeper about the online content they consume about whether it may have unintended consequences. Since it was not specified in the description box, I was not sure if it was still a work in progress. The relation between authentic Asian and model minority myth could be expanded more since the video is still under time limit. Maybe find some statistics or journal articles regarding social media influence on Asian Americans. Y’all might consider adding audio to make it more engaging instead of just silence.

I Really like the topic, especially to our generation creating cultural change through memes are a very compelling thing. I think your topic has plenty of potential for more in-depth, discussion. Definitely, the audio needs work. Right now the work seems very neutral and I would like to see something with more attitude. and also keep in mind your goal for creating this video are you trying to present some information, or are you trying to call people to action?
