We All Matter

Section 1
Week 2
We All Matter
In the article, "Why Ferguson Matters to Asian Americans" by Soya Jung, Soya wrote about how there is a continuing clash between the whites and blacks and how  Asian Americans are the middlemen in this clash. She writes how the Ferguson case is important to Asian Americans because Asian Americans are equally discriminated by white supremacy, but there are no reports about it in the media "Asian death is rendered invisible when it has no value to the power structure". In the past Asian Americans were used to remove African Americans from the work field because they were cheap and used as scapegoats in political matter.

In my opinion, I believe that the Ferguson case was overly mentioned in the media because I believe that why does the media have to be the only source that sparks society's attention on racism. Society should realize that other groups besides African Americans have dealt with racism and discrimination. Instead of reading about issues online or watching it on the television, we should make changes to prevent the continuation of the past.

Why do we repeat the past?
