This week we talked about some topics relating to miseducation of Hmong people and some education 'slogan', such as getting education to change your lives. Taking this class for half quarter, I'm really tired of talking some unfairness happening among races, and I want to talk about more about the meaning of education. For me, getting higher education level and going to decent college are not equaled to higher income level, which most people are misled by statistics, but finding more opportunities to explore what I really interest in. I think there is a misunderstanding in using high level of education to compensate or skirt one's identity. Within such purposes, one is already putting him(her) in a weak position. So I think that's another point why some people are talking about losing fairness in certain field. Even though I admit that there exists lots of unfairness in the society and academia, I still believe that, as the development of information science and technology, racial discrimination will be less and less dominant in recruitment, and one's interest, passion, skillset, attitude will dominate and people should become more and more powerful in both physically and mentally
