Hexi Huang A03 Week 10

This is the last blog post and there was only one thing to read "academics awaken: power, resistance and being woke." This article talks a lot about waking up a facing the injustices that we face, injustices that affected without even being conscious of it. Being woke means to become conscious and aware of the things that happen around us and even having the bravery to do something about it. It about daring to rise up and challenging the system that we were placed in and forging a path to thriving instead of surviving. And if a large amount of us chose to do this at the same time we can cause some major changes. Although any systemic changes may sound overly ambitious can all start with a few steps to raise our political consciousness, always try to notice injustice wherever we see it, try to learn more about topics than just the headline and look at things from different perspectives. These are things that anybody can do. Eventually, with a greater understanding of the forces at hand we can launch our own campaign for change or perhaps join others and with the strength of the people who have knowledge, compassion and a sense for justice can reshape the world.
