Shiting Yu A02 Week7

In this week's reading “Care Work: The Invisible Labor of Asian women" written by Wei Ming Dariotis and Grace J.Yoo, the authors show that Asian American women always give care support to low-income family and first-generation in college. However, they always have less rewards than other Americans do this works. In fact, it is same with that Asian American have less chances to get promoted than other people in university. Although they have excellent behavior in their job, they are more likely to be ignored by others.
I think the profound reason is that American just treated Asian Americans differently as they treat these native students. Just as the videos that the professor shows during the lecture, we always have stereotype for Asian international students. Americans think that they are rich and intend to hang out with other people who come from the same background. At the same time, international students also been treated unfairly. They have to pay more than three times tuition each quarter.
I think these Americans should understand our situations, and they can be more open to these Asian Americans and international students. Language is the first barrier, and we are shy to bother others to speak again. I think it is reasonable for these native speakers to be slow sometimes, which gives international students much more convenience.
