In week 8, I read "Mothering is Liberation: Giving Birth to Alagaan Pedagogy" by Allyson Tintiangco-Cubales and "Resistance is not Futile: From #adjuncthustle to Hell Yeah!" which is written by Genevieve Erin O'Brien.

In "Mothering is Liberation: Giving Birth to Alagaan Pedagogy", Professor Tintiangco-Cubales discussed the difficulties that female faced in acdemia, especial for females who have family and children. Tintiangco-Cubales points out the relationship between mothering and intellectual studies. Mothering was seen as an obstacle in academia. Professor Tintiangco-Cubales suggest that "the holistic, reciprocal relationship between mothering and intellectual studies can sustain a professior's health and psychological well-being. Rather than being a setback to one's academic career, mothering nurtures a motherscholar's spiritual, emotional and political growth and strengthens her resilience in academia." Professor Tintiangco-Cubales indicated how mothering benefited in academia which bring down the old cognition.

In "Resistance is not Futile: From #adjuncthustle to Hell Yeah!", Genevieve Erin O'Brien described the life of an adjunct lecturer who are the majority of the academic workforce. O'Brien started a powerful movement to support women in color. I think this movement is really meaningful and powerful. Revolution is exactly what we need when people are treated unfairly.
