Reading: "Monster, Terrorist, Fag: The War on Terrorism and the Production of Docile Patriots" by Jasbir K. Puar and Amit S. Rai

In "Monster, Terrorist, Fag," Puar and Rai discuss the formation of terrorists and how they affect society's view on heterosexuality. Puar and Rai describe America's retaliation toward 9/11 is "to emasculate bin Laden and turn him into a fag" (Puar/Rai 126). This has started a weird conception in the society that being non-patriotic and antiwar equals being gay. This concept has further developed into transforming "gay" into a derogative term. That the heterosexual way is the normal way. This generation of teenagers have been using the term "gay" referring to anything that is out of the norm.
I agree with Puar and Rai that the term "gay" has been overused and misleading. It cause homosexual people to feel uncomfortable as being gay. This brought up a new violence against people of homosexual.

Do you think that being in great anger and grief is enough to justify associating abnormality with gay?
