Combining with this week's class about neoliberalism and this week's reading "the criminalization of immigration and the privatization of the immigration detention: implications for justice" by Alissa R. Ackerman and Rich Firman, it seems that there exist some private corporations that make profits from immigration detention. However, this policy has a negative influence on not only immigrants but also their generations. With the development of private companies towards immigration detention, It also reflects the decline of the status of ethnic minorities in society and the deprivation of rights. These difficulties remind me to relate what happened to professor Valverde. Instead of cooperating with these private companies, it is important for the government to correct the stereotype of the minority and build up reasonable and justice policies for immigration. So, here comes to my question: How does the politician think of the relationship between neoliberalism and the immigration policy?
