Week 7_Yueming Tan, A01

The article "The Criminalization of Immigration and The Privatization of The Immigrant Detention: Implications For Justice" by Alissa R. Ackerman and Rich Furman, both authors clam that immigrants are more likely to be arrested than American citizens. On the other hand, some organizations also can be benefit from the private prison because they own that property. As the research shows, an immigrant of color are more likely to be arrested than noun color immigrant from the white county. For example, the noun white immigrants are more likely to be arrested with mistakes and unproven reasons. The reason why immigrants are more likely to be arrested because of language's problem. Those people have low level of English and skills, so they can't explains the case and fight for their own, Also, the immigrants have no or little understanding of the law of the United States. There is no point for someone that can't even understand the law and try to flight for himself. This is unfair for immigrant because when I came to the United States, I can't really speak in English and its hard for me to find a way to feel safe. This article mainly focus on the immigrants who has been arrested for no reason, and their family often has no way for ask for help.
