The voice-overs weren't really working so here's the script and the storyboard to follow along with the video. It will be added later.

Description:
Our SAPSA will focus on the issue of appropriation on Asian culture in America. We will focus on examples of cultural appropriation that Asian American students might encounter in their daily life. This may include fashion, art, and media/popular culture. Our objective is to draw attention to and raise awareness for this issue, providing insight into the ongoing and often confusing discussion about what is considered cultural appropriation and what is considered cultural appreciation. We will look at the U.S perspective and its response to appropriation, as well as other Asian countries of previous issues that have surfaced recently.
Our intended audience includes young adults and Asian American students who have likely faced some form of cultural appropriation in their lives, but may not have had a deeper understanding of the subject. We hope to make them more aware of the issue and how it truly makes an impact on American and Asian American society. We will adopt a documentary video style and use voice-overs to communicate our main points and upload the video to Youtube. The video will include examples such as discussing whether people consider Nicki Minaj’s song Chun Li and her SNL Performance Cultural Appropriation, and people’s opinions on a teen wearing a traditional Chinese qipao to her prom. We will also be including more information (or maybe even an interview) from the fashion design student that talked to us in lecture about the patterns of the Hmong people being used on modern day clothing. Adding her perspective on cultural appropriation from her experience in the fashion industry would be very effective for this project. People nowadays seem to simply be oblivious to how much wearing these traditional patterns and clothing can be insensitive and insulting to the culture. People often never intend to offend anyone, but they need to start being more open-minded and aware of the true effects of cultural appropriation and the purpose, meaning, and history behind it.
I love the topic and contents in the video are attractive and informative. I think it will be nice if you could shorten the video clips and conclude the main idea on the screen shots instead of letting audience to read all those words on pictures.
