Week4 Ziyu Wang A02

Upon reading the article Why We Should Fear University, Inc. by Fredrik DeBoer, I too begin to think about the university system in America. Like Fredrik said, the universities are operating like cooperation. In most universities, there are more administrators than actual teaching professors, which for a university where education and knowledge is valued is quite bizarre. Not only that, these administrators gets paid for way more than teaching faculty yet their workload are usually minimum. Corporate presence is growing everyday in Unis, and students must take a stance on the situation if they want a healthy campus politics that benefits students. Like Fredrik said, these  administrators are not student's friends, and we must stop trying to repeal to them, because then we will never truly get what we want - a campus that is not too safe and too dangerous, a campus that encourages and cherishes different beliefs and opinions.
Q: How should students combat the increasing corporate presence in the universities?
