Seeing the infographics given to us got me thinking about the infographic that we will soon have to complete. As I continued to read the article, as mentioned that Asian Americans contribute a huge portion of students in the fastest racial group of undergraduates in American got me wondering why there are still oppressions towards people of color, such as Asians, in higher education, as people in the workforce?
The cartoon represents an old stereotype of how some Asians are known to be taught piano, or rather even forced to be taught piano growing up, feeding into the tiger mom anxiety.
Question: How can we overcome the expectations given to our generation of Asian Americans in academia in this time and age?
