In "What Asian Americans are Bringing to Campus Movements for Racial Justice," Mark Putterman discusses where the Asian community fits in with the other communities in relation to the other racial communities, The other issue primarily discussed in this article that stood out to me was the struggle that the Asian American community endures. I think this topic is very relevant because there is a vast population of young Asian American in colleges and that is growing drastically. There are many different races and nationalities present in American colleges and I think it is important to make sure that not one race is underrepresented in anyway. Everyone deserves to be equal and history has had these arguments already, we just have to promote them so the message of equality never fades out. This idea needs to be expressed among the community of colleges students. The other big places this needs to be displayed is in the actions of professors and in the university itself. For my picture I have used a picture of MLK and a group of his supporters on a protest for equality. He was not protesting equality for African American but equality for all Americans. He alone has been probably the biggest supporter on this idea and everyone knows his importance to our country's history.
Q: In situations where a person or organization has been revealed to be racist in any way, why does it take so long for them to be outcasted from their position in the public?
