Week 10- Max Ma (A03)

Week 10

After ten weeks of reading articles that have addressed countless social issues towards Asian Americans, I find this week's reading a good way to reflect on what I've learnt this past quarter. Since I firmly believe that universities often promote the presence of these social failures, I totally agree with the statement "In this volume we argue, ultimately, no demographic is safe in this constructed academic order, especially those that adopt the corporatized, false meritocracy model uncritically. These structural failures in academia are becoming a visible crisis even to those faculty positioned at the top of the academic hierarchy." Most importantly, Professor Kieu Linh Caroline Valverde has also mentioned that the injustice and inequality against coloured women in our society can be examined in many aspects. In the field of higher education, very few coloured women can be spotted in powerful positions. In financial services, women are the least seen in executive positions. These phenomena have shown the disadvantage nature the society has put on women, therefore, coloured women should never lower their defense to fight the tower. Throughout the article, I'm convinced that the existence of these social failures will ultimately impact me negatively as an Asian American male. Since these unjust and unequal treatments have happened on coloured females for many years. Asian American male might be the next group to sacrifice. Many people serve their whole life to the unjust system, and ultimately, lost their own life to the tower as well. Therefore, Asian American male/female should be awaken and geared up for the movement.

Question:
What is the best way to make sure the fight the tower movement gets passed down with consistency?
