Week 9 Jiaming Mai_ A02

After reading the article" Barack Obama as the post-racial candidate for a post-racial America: perspectives from Asian America and Hawai‘i ”, I have a strong feeling that this country starts to go on a right track. Even though the term of Obama administration had passed about 3 years, it was inspiring that we could see a minority candidate became the leader of this nation. However, let's face that racial equality is still far away from us and we still need to work more on a topic like this as a minority.  I still remembered there was a saying in 2008 about voting Obama can eventually lead to end racism in the U.S. Many minority groups like Asian Americans, Latino Americans were also the supporter of Obama. However, now in 2019. Racism still exists largely in America. Countless of  African Americans were accidentally killed by White Policemen because of their skin of color. The winning of Trump administration also deepens the concept that America is still "white". Trump's "America First" strategy just another practice of  Xenophobia. I felt like the more our government against a certain country of people, the more stereotypes and racial discrimination happen to that group of people. For example, building the wall between Mexico and America. The Trump administration obtained supports from the public by portraying Mexican immigrants as a drug dealer and terrorist. I knew that isn't accurate, but the stereotype of Latino Americans had grown inside my heart.

Question: Is there any fair tool or source for us to obtain accurate information?
