In "Nothing Is More Important than Thinking
Dialectically", Grace Lee Boggs encourages Asian Americans to not only
continue the fight against our oppressors, but also to recognize the
significance of past movements and how the fight is constantly changing. We
must also confront the fact that it is essential to understand the view of your
oppresses and why they do the things they do. This knowledge can help us
strategize new ways to tackle oppression. Boggs also emphasizes the importance
of bringing people together through coalitions and community-based movements.
This made me reflect on how now, the digitalization of media and the internet
in general has allowed many oppressed groups to stand up and fight. For
instance, the Black Lives Matter movement has gained a lot of recognition
across the internet, bringing in supporters and allies from all around the
world.
Question: In what ways have social media and the internet have
affected the actions of both the oppressed and the oppressors?
