After reading the article
called “Nothing is more important than thinking dialectically” by Grace Lee
Boggs, I have come to realize that Asian minorities and other minority groups
should start fighting for their own identities. In order to prepare for the
growth of Asian Americans in the Western countries, we need to think dialectically
by understanding that movement struggles in the present or future are not built
upon movement struggles in the past. We need to create our own movements. I
believe in the “war of position” method that calls for new kinds of
revolutionary movement formed by the power of the people to create new
relationships and transform our community and ourselves. As an Asian living in
America, I can relate to the struggles of other Asian Americans who are simply
living in anguish and frustration. Many questions can be raised from this
article; one example is how can we, as Asian Americans, start our own
revolutionary movement when we have no power to do so? And what steps should be
taken in order to practice a community-based education?
