Vance Lockmiller
Week 10
Section 2
In "The Time to Fight is Now," we got to see Professor Valverde and Professor Dariotis fight for Asian American women and the right they deserve in Academia. I feel this is an issue that should not need to be fought for. Why must there be unfairness such as sexism and bias in the education systems? I think what both people did here was great. It is important to point out a problem and let people know because if that does not occur, the problem may never get fixed. The reading really did incorporate many of the previous week's topics and it was nice that as the last reading, it tied them all together and really brought to light the importance of fighting for one's rights is important. This reading really inspired me to want to go out and make a change in this world because nothing will change unless you are willing to make it happen. For my outside source, I chose this picture because I felt it incorporated a lot of what I was trying to say. Everyone, no matter what color they are, should have equal and fair rights.
Q: What are some other topics or concerns Professor Valverde thinks she would fight for next?
