Do Won Lee
Section 2
Week 10
This
week’s reading is the introduction to the anthology named, Fight the Tower. In the introduction, Professor Valverde and
Professor Dariotis list off the different sections of the anthology that are
cleverly alluded to the Star Wars series.
Each section is comprised of different written pieces from different authors of
varying ages, backgrounds, and experiences. The introduction goes through the
reasons why this anthology is being created and how it came to be. The
introduction does a good job to show how diverse the anthology is.
The
introduction includes a lot of names of different contributors, and I think it’s
amazing that an anthology of this caliber is being produced despite the forces
against them. Each contributor in the anthology has their own piece to
contribute for something greater. I think it’s interesting how throughout the
quarter, we were able to read small pieces of the anthology and know more about
its authors. It also shows how the problems faced by the authors are relevant
to our lives because they’re also pieces included in the class syllabus. The
anthology is proof that people are congregating and the current mode of
education will be challenged. The efforts of many people and lives are brought
forth into the anthology and I hope their efforts will pay off.
My
question: How difficult was it to find all the contributors to the anthology
and was it difficult to organize the start of the anthology?
