In the “‘The Time to Fight is Now’: When Asian american Women in Academia Go Rogue,” Kieu-Linh Caroline Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis goes over the events in Academia for Asian American Women that caused heavy psychological and health issues. They talk about personal examples through the story such as Professor Valverde. Professor Valverde was under pressure from the academia from a tenure battle. The high stress situation caused a miscarriage when she was just six months pregnant.

A survey was conducted from Asian American Women. From surveys, 75% of stress that Asian American go through is from the academia pressure. The stress usually leaves people with chronic health problems and heavy psychological problems. An example of this would be scholarship issues for Asian American women compared to other ethnic groups. Another issue would be the chance of promotion relating to White Males in society as they have a 18% more chance of getting a job.

The question would be, "How do we combat this battle as this is a environment issue and not more of a direct issue".
