Reading: "A Tale of Two Campuses: Berkeley and Davis respond to Occupy movements" by Alan Markow

This article by Markow feature the recent, infamous pepper spray incident in UC Davis. Markow criticizes Davis administration for not considering students' request in the protest but only focus on the "damage" caused by the student protest. However, I believe the Davis administration had learned their lesson after the pepper spray incident. The reason they respond such inconsiderately because they were not expecting such raging response from the students, parents, and media. Once they realize the issues were getting out of hand. Chancellor Lind Katehi came forward and offered students a apology.

While, Berkeley administration had been more considerable in taking care of and respond to students' need. The difference that the two UC college administrations handle student protest has not only shown the administration styles of both school but also the experience each administration has.

Questions: What should Davis administration have done in similar future incident?
