This was the first time I have ever heard of the Wen Ho Lee case and found that it was a clear case of racial profiling. It is very sad that they would accuse a 60 year old man of espionage without substantial evidence. It is very sad that they locked up the timid old man in a cell hoping that he would confess to something he did not do. It seem as if the Cox committee was making up facts so that they can try to prosecute Lee. They mentioned that they fund 3000 companies linked to the PLA but there was no evidence to support there claims. Its very fortunate that Lee's kids had the courage to tell their fathers stories although it was clear that the newspaper editor did not want to represent the story. It is a shame that the Cox committee tried to take advantage of the situation when prosecuting Lee because he was an old school Chinese man that kept to himself and was not an activist. This makes me think of my mom and the people that treated her baldy at work since she was an immigrant that had an accent. I'm glad she does not work for the company and has moved on to something better. Many immigrant families come to this country trying to raise a family and be a model citizen trying to build a good future for themselves. It was clear that was what Lee was trying to peruse. He was not a privileged man but was educated and went on to writing a mathematic book, which shows he did not let this wrongful persecution did not keep him from attaining his goals. In the article white privilege and male privilege reveals to us the privileges that certain groups do not realize they have. They have an advantage over others and the author listed some of the everyday privileges she is granted which makes her have an advantage over other. It is clear that when you are born to a privileged life , then it is easy to see why it may be hard to see yourself as having an advantage over others.
What would a privileged man say about the advantage He has in life. Would there be any disadvantage that they have that we as a society may not know about?
