Asian American Women Should be Treated Equally
I am surprised to see that asian american women are treated badly after I read the book calls “The Time to Fight Is Now” by Kieu Linh Caroline Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis. The data this book provides strongly tell that Asian American women’s bad situation. This book sites that “As shown by Junn and Davis Cross in chapter 2 of this volume, in their study of tenure and promotion at the University of Southern California, Asian American women are tenured and promoted at a rate of 40 percent of those who apply for tenure and promotion, while white men are tenured and promoted at a rate of 92 percent.” This data clearly shows that Asian American women are facing unequal treatment and unfair advantage. Some people judge Asian American women base on their look and their roots, or even the way their talk. I don’t think it’s the right way to treat them. I believe that the main thing to look at is the ability to learn and management, and Asian American women are smart enough to qualify the requirements base on the Asian American women around me. I think it’s time for Asian American women to stand out and speak for themselves.
